Daniel “Dan” Fenton serves as an executive vice president of the JLL Hotel & Hospitality Group in San Jose, California. Under Dan Fenton’s leadership, JLL Hotel & Hospitality Group recently worked with the city of Raleigh to create a request for information (RFI) for a new convention hotel and a mixed-use building in the city center.
The city of Raleigh is working with developers to enhance two vacant, city-owned lots, each about one acre in size, located at the terminus of Fayetteville Street. The Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and the Raleigh Convention Center are positioned across the street. In a press release, Raleigh city manager Jim Greene described the project as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Based in part on a study completed by JLL, the city of Raleigh has identified the need for an upscale hotel with 500 or more rooms to accommodate individuals and groups attending events and meetings at the convention center and performing arts organization, as well as other entities in the city. Currently, the city is seeking developers to complete the mixed-use/separate office building and the upscale hotel.
