NR Beeswax Packaging

Beeswax is a wonder of the hive. Beeswax is an all-natural substance produced by bees with a myriad of uses; ideal for candle making, soap making and other DIY products. Packaged in plastic wraps, the packaging of beeswax is often non-biodegradable, thus impacting the earth that we humans and bees exist in. Apart from plastic packaging, beeswax often has a “lack of packaging”, with little to no design elements present.   This interactive packaging symbolises the abode of bees – their honeycomb. The outer shell of the packaging mimics a bee, with wings as a handle and a string at the top to resemble feelers. 

With the colors of yellow, black and hues of orange, the design features a collapsible centre that splits into three sections. Each section of honey comb contains 4 ounces of beeswax, optimal to yield a candle or a soap bar. The centre comb is also decorated with bee illustrations, paying homage to the workers of the hive. 

The packaging is targeted for consumers who purchase beeswax from physical stores, as well as new consumers who are interested in the properties and uses of beeswax. Sporting a functional and interactive design, the packaging is designed to jump off the shelf and convey the fun, hands-on experience that beeswax brings. Since beeswax does not decompose and it’s only affected by dust, the eco-friendly paper packaging protects the wax from the elements of nature.
