ARDBEG SINGLE MALT – MASTERS OF SMOKE

The Masters of Smoke programme was developed to educate bartenders around the science of smoke and its role within both the production and tasting of the Ardbeg Single Malt. Each expression was dissected into its composite flavours and is represented using a series of scents designed by Dior. These scents together with other bespoke props such as the Peatyodic Table and peat sampling tool form the backbone to the kit which has proved to be a huge success.

Peat sampling tools were included to help educate bartenders about the origins of smoke
within the whisky making process. Each sampler was handmade in order to represent the various layers found in peat formation.

Each scent was created by Dior and represents a key flavour found within the Ardbeg core range. Scents could be nosed individually or combined to inspire new and interesting flavour creations.
Together with the scent vials a peatyodic table was created to communicate the wealth and depth of flavours found across each of the Ardbeg smoke categories. Transparent pages were created as overlays to compare each of the unique expressions. This information formed the backbone to the programme.
