Hackolades
Design, Production & Assembly: Julie Davidson
Acknowledging colleagues doesn't have to mean sending a message on a boring email or corporate letterhead, so we created the "Hackolade." Submissions to HR are made throughout the year. Each month winners receive a Hackolade with a carefully chosen gift card for each person. In the past, these have included music venues, dance or cooking lessons, books, and movies.

Four Days of Birthdays
Design, Production & Assembly: Julie Davidson
In my friend group, four of us have consecutive birthdays, so I like to have a little fun making cards for each of them—especially the fourth one—they may or may not be birthday burnout after number three.

Halloween Eve 50th Birthday
Design, Production & Assembly: Julie Davidson
If your birthday is the day before Halloween and you're turning 50, then a spooky-themed card is in order! The pocketed mini-card was constructed by layering different colored card stock and hand-cutting the theme elements, and folding it accordion-style so that the visual story unfolds a bit at a time.
Materials: Envelofolds envelope, decorative paper, card stock, acetate for the pocket
Winter Holidays
Design, Production & Assembly: Julie Davidson
Making holiday cards towards the end of the year, give me the opportunity to use remnants of other projects to fabricate them. In this case, I used handmade paper that I had used to cover picture frames. It had leaf skeletons and other organic bits in it.
Materials: Card stock, metallic paper, hand-crafted paper, spray adhesive, and translucent ribbon
