Winter Olympics stamp

In co-operation with the Hungarian Olympic Committee, Hungarian Post has welcomed the biggest winter sports event of 2018, the XXIII Olympic Winter Games. The stamp features a new Hungarian success sport, short track speed skating, and the special envelope features the silhouette of a skier. The main motif of the commemorative stamp is the number 176 enclosed in a laurel wreath, which reflects the number of Olympic gold medals so far awarded to Hungarian athletes.

The publication was released on 2nd February 2018, and then the Hungarian team was awarded a gold medal in the men’s 5000 m Short Track Speed Skating Final on 22nd February.

The stamp was the winner of the Hungarian Post’s Art Award in 2019.
