Letterpress, Printing, Identity, Collateral
Last year during my final semester of design school, I really wanted to produce a business card that was simple but would stand on its own at our student portfolio showcase/networking event. Having recently gotten insterested (more like obsessed) in/with letterpress printing, I decided early on that this was the printing media I wanted to utilize for my cards. I expressed this interest to an instructor at school who happened to have a letterpress/screenprint shop, and he was gracious enough to order my polymer plates and walk me through the beautiful and headache-producing process of turning these into a finished product. He gave me a rundown of how the machine worked, some tips on registration, and a key to lock up when I left. It was awesome. Thanks Mike! I'm extremely happy with how these came out, and even happier that I can say that I actually printed them.

I wanted to do something slightly different than most letterpressed cards, so I chose a simple knockout design - all of the card front received ink except for the logo (aside some distressing), which is now raised due to the kiss of the plate.
