I’ve been working on a new series of very small sculptures made from different kinds of wire, string, and found objects. They proceed an implicit motivation: to emulate the immediacy of drawing in the materiality of sculpture. 

The Tellico is a river that flows through Monroe County, Tennessee. Intimate and sunny, one particular stretch of class IV whitewater leaves kayakers exhilarated. A tight sequence of ledges, turns, waterfalls, boulder gardens, and holes – It is a rich place where diverse elements of the landscape converge beneath a powerful and erosive logic: tense, and flowing.
