Night of Spectacles Competition

Night of Spectacles
This project was for a competition called the Night of Spectacles that takes place every year in Atlanta, GA as a for uninsured Georgian's to receive eye surgery, glasses, etc.  We were chosen by the Dean School of Fashion to move forward into the competition where there were three judging panels to pass in order to have the design in the runway show. I am thankful to announce that we successfully made it past all of them and competed against 23 other designers in the show. Before we knew it, our names were announced on stage as the 2013 NIGHT OF SPECTACLES WINNERS. We received an $1000 check and our dress was auctioned off and sold to a member in the audience.
The qualifications for this assignment needed to include a process book, 40 sketches, fabric/color board, and a final photo with hair and makeup included. The final 3D design needed to be "advant garde" and filled with at least 40% spectacles. This was a collaboration project that I completed with a friend and class mate, Erica Garcia. We worked together to finish the final 3D design, both turning in separate process books. We used recycled eye glass spectacles to cover of the garment. Each piece is hand sewn on separately.
