For Epipheo: What is Metaweb?

DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY
This is my crowning achievement. I mean, really. Have you drawn Boston?
I really like fake flowcharts. A lot of clients don't like these quick, overwhelming sequences, but when you're trying to communicate the hardships of "the old way", this is a great way to illustrate a feeling we all have when we're frustrated. Plus, any time I can make a Dr. Seuss reference, I feel a certain bit of accomplishment.
Funny story: The CEO of Metaweb liked this robot character so much, they wanted to put it on t-shirts. Instead, for a gift, his wife commissioned a toymaker on etsy to make a one-of-a-kind plush toy version. Complete with cubes and "Entity Labels". I'm not lying.
Another funny story: I was provided with a few names and entities here, but I had to fill in some gaps. Namely, I had to find someone who was connected to Steve Wozniak, U.C. Berkeley, and Pixar. It didn't take too long to find Oren Jacob. I didn't know who he was at first, but I put him in anyway. After the video released, he contacted Epipheo to get a video done for a project he was involved in. His project was "Ready, Set, Bag!"
One of the perks of having to create meta data within a video as a filler is that you can promote friends. I've known the guys from MAE since high school, and now, at least in this animated video, they are up there with Coldplay, Kings of Leon, and Lady Gaga. Of course, that last peer may or may not be something to be proud of.
Easily my favorite moment of this video. I love using word bubbles.
Yeah, this took way too long to render. This was the last time I was going to be attempting one of these projects on my laptop. Also, yes, that is Nickelback in the list. And no, I don't listen to them.

Metaweb came to Epipheo because they said that it was taking them 45 minutes to explain their product. Well, we got it down to three and a half. Read More
