Ready to leave their county coat of arms in the past were it belongs, Putnam County's council set out to freshen up their image by starting from scratch. In meeting with the council they stressed wanting certain elements that represent their area to visitors and locals alike. Sun, water, and land. Putnam County is very outdoors oriented in its lifestyle for those who live and visit. My goal was to make an image using these elements that could stand alone. The result, flexibility of arrangement in use of the 'elements' symbol and type. This flexibility was necessary for all applications and future usage ranging from all county trucks and vehicles, as well as, the local water tower uses to name a few.
