The assignment was to research and design a visual program for an organization or event related to a specific location. I was assigned an archaeological convention in Budapest, Hungary. The whole project is based on a recent archaeological find in Budapest that I researched: they found a sabretache, which is an ancient pouch similar to this design, that may have belonged to an ancient prince. This is a housing format that contains everything for the program.
Here is the brochure, which includes general information about Budapest, a schedule of events, and a map of the area. I actually researched and figured out the details such as which hotel the guests would be staying at, how far away it is from the museum, etc.
I included a fold-out flap that reveals more information about the artifacts that were found at this specific dig site. I like adding things like this in my work, were the user has to work a little to reveal more information.
This is a journal that the archaeologists could take with them to take notes at different dig sites at the convention. There is a pocket inside where I've placed a museum ticket I made. I had a lot of fun experimenting with different materials in this project, such as this twine!
Also inside the journal is a perforated fold-out poster that the user could rip out and hang up to get excited about going to the convention in the beautiful city of Budapest!
I also designed and coded a simple three-page website for the event. Here is the blog page, where archaeologists can answer discussion questions about artifacts that are found at the dig sites during the convention.
