Foxtel is an Australian subscription television company, operating a duopoly in cable television, a monopoly in direct broadcast satellite television, and IPTV catch-up services. It was formed in 1995 through a joint venture established between News Corporation (now News Corp; through News Limited, now News Corp Australia) (FOX) and Telstra (TEL).
The remote was redesign to defy redundancy while retaining some essence of its original features. Data have shown that the usage of numeric keys have decreased significantly over the years yet its still inevitable to have many keys on the remote, thus the idea of illuminating numeric keys underneath the silicon sleeve will eliminate the underutilized mess.
