One of the ways I hope to promote myself to Konami is the attention to detail and a different way of thinking. At one point in Metal Gear Solids storyline, the main protagonist Solid Snake must contact a female soldier on her radio, the problem is we don't have her frequency. If you asked other characters about this they would simply tell you that her frequency was on the back of the box. My ten year old self spent a long time trying to figure out what they meant, did they mean a box in the game? The cardboard box that Solid Snake would occasionally hide under? Nope, they meant the back of the games actual CD box. So it had to go on my design, just translated into Kanji this time. The fact that a piece of Media could break the 4th wall like that and really engage the player/ viewer/ etc, even if it was in a simple way, blew my feeble young mind. There are a few other notable parts like this one; like when a psychic character reads your memory card and tells you what games you've playing and another were a character gives you a massage by using the vibrate function on the PlayStation controller. This attention to detail and inventiveness are both aspects of Konami that I am trying to emulate with my work.
