In October, 2015, we (Shelley and I) traveled to Yellowstone Park to gather information about the geothermal activity and its source. Based on this information, I designed two infographics, this is the first one where I focus on the source of the park's geothermal activity:  The massive superheated plume of rock under Yellowstone has caused dozens of volcanic blast, and fuels the Earth's largest collection of hydrothermal features.
First draft: to show the Magma Plume, I had to lift the park an make a cross section.
Polished version: Once I have the concept ready, I start to work with the 3D artist, in the render, light and composition.
Final version: When we had the approval from the experts, I polished the render details and changed the tone of the surface to make more contrast and let the plume had better display.
