BMW sent me on a summer road trip in Tennessee, from Nashville to Chattanooga. Piloting the new 530e, I had the open road in front of me, but it was painfully boring, and the freeway route between these two Southern cities was anything but inspiring. I decided instead to select a random point on the map with twisty roads and lush farmland, and then I was blessed by the perfect summer rainstorm, the kind where the rain is both falling down and evaporating off the hot tarmac simultaneously. While location scouting and proper productions have their merits, there's something to be said about winging it and getting lucky.
