Task: to create an outstanding package design for the line of dried chili peppers.

The Czech spice market is focused mostly on the product and its qualitative features rather than on the attractiveness of the package. The most typical solution for the packaging design is paper bags with various prints or labels. The main disadvantage of this kind of solution is the impossibility to see the product itself.

The manufacturer entered the wide-ranging spice market with a focus on a specific segment – that of chili products. The main goal, therefore, was to develop the package design, which will help distinguish the brand from other spices and solve the problem of the visibility of the product.
Solution.

Capsaicin is an active component of chili peppers. It has healing properties for the human body.  Healers of many countries use chili as a strong antioxidant, analgesic, a remedy for cardiological and gastrointestinal problems. Also, capsaicin causes light psychological addiction and euphoric sensations. Inspired by all this, the name "Legal Drug" has appeared.
The pharmaceutical drug conception led to the decision to use small medical bottles with a cork stopper. Customers can easily recognize the kind of dried chili (flakes, granules, or powder) inside the glass bottle.

The last point was the label design. The line had to be adaptable to the potential increase in the product variety, so the label design also had to be easily adjustable. The most logical solution was to develop the selected medical theme with a minimalistic addition of vintage typography. The color of the text on the label changes based on the dominant color of the chili pepper, which helps quicker navigation between the products within the line. The bottles can be compiled in nice vintage sets or decorate the kitchen shelves independently.
