First years were set a brief by a Second year tutor,  the brief was to choose one of four pieces of writing and typographically redesign, using all of the text, in any style/medium/format we wanted. The brief was very open and gave some creative freedom. 

 

I chose Gertrude Stein, Tender Buttons, Objects. A series of strangely descriptive poems. Colour is continuously mentioned though tout the majority of the poems, after research and different format ideas, i ended with choosing an original pantone colour swatch page layout to structure my own grid around. The text formatted tightly and use of gradient colour together creates the simple effective essence i wanted to achieve. The plan is to continue with more colours and end with a full colour swatch book. I called this piece of work, Pantone Poems.
