Commissioned by Esplanade for their annual mid-autumn event celebrating traditional Chinese arts and culture, the main inspiration for the illustration was the Peking opera performer's unique head dresses. When looking for a way give this 6 year old event a new look, we found our inspiration from paper collages where various images are put together. So as to showcase the multitude of activities, we decide to replace the elements on the head dress with the performers and drawings of visitors having a fun time at our event.
