Laura Has Cancer
Back in October 2015, the Children Cancer Foundation approached me to illustrate a children picture book. The purpose was to create a book that will allow their volunteers to educate children in schools about cancer.
The initial brief was simple, to create a book to explain the facts through a character named Laura. However I felt that more than information, it needed to teach empathy for the cancer patients. And in order to do that, we attempt to engage the reader emotionally with the expressive and bubbly characters.
