The Project
It wasn't Sembra, said the Alzolaio...
This story begins with these words. It is a dreamy and visionary tale based on the real life of Salvatore Ferragamo, visualised by the fabulous drawings by Mimmo Paladino, and written and narrated by Alessandro Bergonzoni.

The Exhibition
The video was showed at the Ferragamo Museum in Florence during the exhibition Il calzolaio prodigioso. Fiabe e leggende di scarpe e calzolai.

The Realisation
The making of the video followed a very linear path:
The production gave me the full amount of drawings needed for the video.
Firstly, I cut out all the elements in each drawing, dividing them into different layers.
Then, I focused on understanding and feeling the meaning of each drawing, to animate it accordingly.
I tried to give depth to those worlds, actions, situations, but work on a drawing, animate it in each part, give depth to the representation and, at the same time, be invisible paying attention to not accidentally misrepresent the drawing was my real effort.
