We were set a brief as a class by graphic design company Elastic to brand ourselves, which was to include a logo and a motion graphics piece that told people what we are like as designers, and what sets us apart from the rest. I created a handdrawn logo for myself, as I feel it best shows the heavy illustration influence my work also has, and included the hands from my tattoo which hold a lot of meaning. I then worked on my motion piece. I needed a narrative, so I thought about common 'work hard' phrases and puns, and came to realise that food featured heavily. So, from there I took as many of the phrases I could and created my animation around them. I also wanted to try and show how far I could push my abilities, so tried to include a large range of animation styles and piece them together. This included some I had used before such as After Effects and Photoshop, and some I had never such as Cinema 4D and hand drawn flip-book work individually scanned in and coloured. I had so much fun with this project and was very happy with the end result, including Elastic, who featured me and some of my fellow classmates on their blog.
