Deckor is a company which repurposes old skateboards into wall art. It allows skateboarders to send in their old boards with a short description of a fond memory they’ve had with it, and the board will then be carved down and given a new life as a piece of art with a personalised artwork on the back based on the memory the skater described. Deckor aims to reduce wood waste production and encourage upcycling.
I created this brand as a personal project, taking it upon myself to hand carve, sand, varnish and lasercut the boards and design each piece of artwork to go on them. I developed a handwritten smooth-flowing logo which was lasercut into the boards themselves and onto individual wooden keyrings. I also created a short advert to promote my brand using stop motion, hand drawn elements and photoshop.
