The Brief

To create a brand new mezzaluna and board set for Tier 1 range.

The set needs to have a point of difference versus competitors.To gain more listings and stamp our authority in store.

Mezzaluna, also known as hachoir is a vintage herb cutting tool.

Chops herbs, leaves and spices in the quickest time. The set comes with the board which can be displayed a statement piece in the kitchen.

Big enough for easy chopping. Easy to store as a set - board & mezzaluna blade should be easy to store together.

Vintage inspired mezzaluna and board set

Board in Acacia to be in line with other Tier 1 wood products. Board has a concave (bowl) to keep herbs & leaves neat and tidy when chopping. Please utilise this space and make the bowl as big as possible (i.e. 20cm board, the bowl is 18cm diameter).Mezzalunna cutter needs to be sharp for easy cutting. Semi-circular shape with wooden handles. Mezzaluna blade can be off the shelf (for cost saving) with our own Acacia handle.Single blade, no need for folding handle (cost saving).Storage - clever storage that allow us to place the mezzaluna within the board as one piece.
