Fictional Drug Packaging

Frank Herbert's Dune has had a deep impact on both my creative vision and love of science fiction. When I first picked up the book, I was enthralled by Herbert's ability to build a world so vast, so rich. In the story, the universe is controlled by the drug known as "The Spice Melange" due to its precognitive and space-warping properties.

In this package design project, I chose to design a packaging system for Herbert's fictional drug. Each of the three package forms represents a specific concentration of the drug, ranging from low, medium, and high. Color, shape, and pattern inspiration was pulled from a variety of sources, mainly from late 1960s design to reflect the time in which the book was written.
Packaging mockup for the lowest concentration - Intended for regular use in morning routines
Packaging mockup for the mid-tier concentration - Intended for a afternoon ppick-me-up
Packaging mockup for the lowest concentration - Intended for the occasional creative emergency
