Summer Carnival

This was an assignment for the Summer Carnival festival of 2012 in Rotterdam. I was asked to design the cover for a magazine and a poster in the same style.
The poster had to be very colorful and show the costumes and mood of the festival. I came up with a concept showing a girl in an elaborate carnival costume made from tropical birds. If you look closely you will also notice some grey native Dutch birds flying around her while she dances.
TECHNIQUE
Made with graphite, colored pencils and ink on A3 sized Bristol Board. Then scanned in and slightly edited in Photoshop to make the colors deeper and brighter.
