National Pine
Inspired by the National Parks arrowhead symbol but reimagined as a northern pinecone, “National Pine’’ is a love letter to midwestern simplicity and craft. One of the main challenges for this piece was trying to evoke a sense of warmth and familiarity through color and tone, but also recreating a place that people would understand and recognize. This hometown project revolved around the sensibility that even in the coldest landscapes, you can still find warmth and comfort.
