small talk at the cash desk

//cashier: I can't recognise you on your passport photo. That's because you get your   passport with 14, everything was alright when people hit them with 16, what do you need your paper for being 14?
me: There was my ID for the exams I took after 9th grade
cashier: Had you left the school after 9th grade?
me: no, but I've got my first job that time
cashier: where?
me: at a local church
cashier: so. where is your cross then? You're not allowed to enter a church without having a cross on your neck//
being honest, I got employed by the International Friendship House, which was closed for renovation and some of its parts continued working in churches, where nobody cares whether you have a cross if you are ready to work for 100 rubles an hour
//me: can I have a bag, please?
cashier: for how long have you been working on your current workplace?
me: for a year, why do you need this?
cashier: I've been working at this cash desk for thee years, I know you're not allowed to take free bags for sure
