Still Waters/Savage Waves

Dutch singer-songwriter PennyLeen desperately wanted a vintage, typography inspired cover for her album Still Waters/Savage Waves. The title reflects her swinging moods, as if it were the ocean tides. Both the moon and the sun influence the ocean tides. So after I designed the typography, I took focused on that while creating the images for the sleeve. The outside shows the night (moon) and the inside shows daylight (sun), which illustrates the same contradiction as the album title.
The original idea of PennyLeen for the photos in the booklet was to shoot them at sea, but in the end she chose to head for the forrest. So, next to the typography, I also drew some branches in the same style as the drawings on the sleeve to make the two connect.
