Contemplating the interior of a cloud
This series of paintings is a second approach, in my artistic process, to the phenomenon Cloud. This natural occurrence has generated me many questions about the perceived colours during the contemplation of it. The series is comprised by ten paintings in which a search for a better understanding of the chromatic process in humans is carried out (primary, secondary, complementary colours, black and white). Through the use of colour and its nonfigurative use I look to find a more ideal tool for describing visual experiences, since I consider that memory and language are not suitable means for this task; given an implicit incapacity I find in them to effectively describe or communicate spatial, chromatic and subjective experiences. The works are therefore testimonies of having been present in a specific place, time and phenomenon that search for the essence of this event through the colour in itself, using the abstract language as a better way of representation of that experienced during the contemplation of a Cloud.
