El estudio fenomenológico, inherentemente humano, puesto en relación con el conocimiento de la ciencia, es la manera en que surgen las preguntas procesuales frente a lo analizado, siendo este el caso de El Sol y la pregunta inicial y detonante, ¿De qué color es el sol?

Y es así como surgen las expediciones solares… experimentaciones con ópticas y luz, utilización de la energía solar para crear a partir de la destrucción que esta genera, horas y horas de vivencias sensoriales bajo el sol, cuestionamientos filosóficos frente a la significación e importancia poética de este místico astro, diversos y amplios tipos de resultados obtenidos y la interrogación de la materia en sí.

Una lupa es la mejor herramienta de todas. La condensación del poder solar en un solo punto puede cambiar la materia de una manera que puede ser poéticamente utilizada en el arte.

Este proyecto se perfila como un relato de los encuentros y eventos ocurridos durante dos viajes de expedición al sol. Son los resultados arqueológico/científico/artísticos obtenidos del trabajo de campo durante dichas expediciones. Las piezas relatan los accidentes geográficos y geológicos encontrados en el astro, los meteoros recolectados, los dibujos son de estudios planetarios y estudios esféricos llevados a cabo para una mejor comprensión de lo descubierto, dos de los dibujos son realizados con pigmento solar, un material resultante de un proceso alquímico de gran potencial pictórico. La gran variedad de eventos estudiados y retratados en las obras, dotan de verosimilitud el relato de Expediciones Solares.

Solar Expeditions

The phenomenological study, inherently human, put in relation with the knowledge of science, is the way that the initial questions are built. Being this case The Sun, and the first question of all, What color is the sun? This question gives room to many more about the sun and our experience with it, and allows me to start creating new realities through the different studies and speculations that I make; such as different expeditions to the sun where many objects, images and data were gathered. Being an artist who plays the role of scientist and archeologist of stories that are only possible in my mind and that can be shared and transmitted through my works.

And this is how the solar expeditions come to life: Diverse experimentation with optics and light have been made and studied. The utilization of the solar energy, as an alternative energy, to create from the destruction it generates is one of the main forces used in this project. Hours and hours of physical experience beneath the sun have led to wide results on materials put in contact with the sun itself.

A magnifying glass is the best tool of all. The accumulation of the power of the sun in one spot can change matter in a way that can poetically be used in art.

The Project it’s in itself a story telling of the findings and events occurred during the two expedition trips to the sun.

The works are therefore the archeological/scientific/artistic results obtained in the field work and talk about the geographical and geological studies found and performed in the star, the recollected meteorites, the planetary and spherical studies made through drawings, and many more solar phenomena. The wide variety of events studied provide with plausibility the incredible story of the Solar Expeditions.
