STOP MOTION Dancing "Weckmänner" for WDR TV

Still

Tanzende Weckmänner
Stop-motion film about dancing breadmen for Sendung mit dem Elefanten / WDR.

The Editors of Sendung mit dem Elefant asked me to contribute a clip to theire "St. Martin's-Day-special".
In my hometown it is a tradition to buy “Weckmänner” (bread men) on St Martins Day. I came up with the idea to let breadmen and woman dance. The raining candy in the middle of the film refer to the other St. Martin's Day tradition that children build lanterns and walk from door to door singing and get candy for their songs.

About the show
The Sendung mit dem Elefanten (The show with the elephant) is a TV show for children aged 3 to 5. It has an very playful approach to education. The show consists of five to seven little clips. A lot of times all about one subject. This episode was about St. Martin's-Day. Besides this film there was (amongst others) an animation clip about the history of St. Martin, a film about how to build a lantern (an other traditon) and lantern song.
