Agenda. Times change. They are changing the pace of life of people changing their attitude towards the traditional way of life and work. The digital era is making adjustments in the usual way of work, more jobs allow remote format and, furthermore, there are new skills and ways of generating income, which do not imply the desktop and office. community office concept, co-working, has become a familiar and common, now the idea of living together, co-living that combines the positive aspects of hotel service and privacy of a closed club house is gaining popularity, where all the guests are familiar with each other, have similar social status and adhere to common values. Release from the office routine work gave rise to the emergence of a new way of life - Work & Travel. This work - a further development of the concept of digital nomadism, the development of hotel location in an area rich in historical context and nature, suitable for work and leisure. Hotel comfort and the urban fast internet, privacy and concentration of ashrams and enthusiastic atmosphere of co-working - we do our best to combine those elements in our concept of "Abbey Retreat" Times are changing, and our way of life is changing along with them.
Historical context. In the process of exploring the new typology, we understand the concept of cohabitation of people united by some values, away from the routine for working together is not new. Medieval Abbey may well serve as a prototype, the place brings people to serve high ideals.
Architecture. Two-level space is divided into three logical units, reflecting the overall concept of the hotel of the 21st century. The lower level is entirely given over to socialize, for real life. The upper level is divided into two sections - residential, comprised from apartments made of prefab units and co-working area, is a gallery with greenhouses and library, located in the perimeter of the old castle tower. The entire volume is covered with glass structure.
