What the world thinks

Visualizing what people from different countries think about a different issues.
A project with Beansbox Studio and the Economist.

“What the World Thinks” is a data visualization and interaction project, where users from different countries vote for different issues. The votes are visualized on the map and color-coded. The map is built with SVG and readers can use multi-touch gestures to interact on touch-screen devices.

A simple converter is also made to parse the SVG file exported from Illustrator and turn it into a JSON file using Node.JS, so that the in-house designer can easily change the map.
Users can zoom in to a specific region with a 2-finger pinch, and see a vote breakdown of a country.
Users can also search for specific country with auto-complete.
