Somewhere In Time

The self-portraits in the Somewhere In Time series reflect my interest in the juxtaposition of light and dark, innocence and disillusionment. Most of these photographs were staged behind glass or gossamer fabric to create an in-camera illusion of a hazy scene which is quickly disappearing to fade into another.

These photographs are part of my ongoing fascination with themes of hope, loss, regret, love, and the sometimes romanticized reflections of pivotal life experiences. I also looked to the imagery found in early fairy tales, their underlying themes of alienation and the dissolution of innocence.
