Marassa is a series of self-portraits created using mirrors or post-production cloning. In Vodou, the Marassa Jumeaux are the divine twins representing duality and contradiction. They present as female, male, and neither male nor female. They are the spirits which personify the mysteries of both divinity and the human condition.
In addition to the symbolism associated with twins, the doubling of myself within a self-portrait is a personal exploration of my own dualities and contradictions, presenting each side from the perspective of a voyeur glimpsing through a keyhole at a moment that perhaps should not be seen.
