Typography Photography | Design Manifesto
I hate design that... I love design that...
A collaborative project that explores our personal position and approach to communication design as a group of students from different design fields. As designers, each one of us has our own working definition of what it is we do and why. This project centers upon both individual and collective understandings of what Communication Design is. Expressing our own personal philosophical basis of our work and approach to visual communication through a debate and a list of: I like design that..... and I hate design that.....

In this collaborative work, we referenced the language of revolution in creating our slogans. They take the form of images which we feel can be fully appreciated by our audience. The tone of our message is informal but bold. Our focus was on the words so we explored ways to visualise our maxims using the raw materials of the messages, i.e. it’s typography.

BEAUTIFULLY USEFUL. To design with a purpose.
I WILL TOUCH YOU.  To produce engaging work that elicits
an emotional response from the audience.
GET OUT OF MY FACE.  We pledge not to add to the void of senseless uninvited visuals.
STOP SAYING NOTHING. Creating work which conveys a message effectively to the viewer is essential.
IT'S AWESOME CAUSE I SAY SO.
The subjective undefined systems in design are the nature of the beast.
GIVES A SHIT. Socially responsible design that aims to make a difference.
