In July 2012 Blu Bathworks opened its flagship Blu Room conveniently located in Yaletown in downtown Vancouver. The Blu Room operates as an open plan design and exhibition studio, sharing a showroom space of new BLU products with Blu Bathworks offices, conference room and additional showroom facilities.
A key element of the design was to create a simple but colourful platform for showcasing and testing the products within a flexible environment. BLU will also host regular product training sessions, together with other events aimed at architects, interior designers, plumbers, property developers and other professional specifiers.
“The Blu Room is part of my vision for the brand’s growth and it was conceived as a center for design intelligence. Its role is wide ranging, we see it not just as a creative lab for our designers but also as a resource centre for professionals. With this new set-up, the space acts as a laboratory for product development so we can work with designers, architects and distributors to gain input and feedback during the design process, as well as with consumers to help us evolve our products” comments Michael Gottschalk, Blu Bathworks head designer and founder.
Paula Coen, Director of Marketing at Blu Bathworks, added, “The new showroom offers a flexible space that allows us to customize the presentation of our products in what is closer to a real-world setting. Blu has invested in a dedicated Brand Experience Manager, Marlies Coventry, to act as the curator of the space, which provides a more professional sales approach and ultimately a better relationship with our clients”. The new Vancouver showroom is located on the west side of Smithe Street, in Yaletown, at the intersection with Cambie Street. Yaletown Roundhouse station is only a few minutes walking distance.
