During my last semester at Michigan State, my class was given the opportunity to redesign a space in the basement of the Eli and Edith Broad Art Museum. The building was beautifully designed by Zaha Hadid, and contains many architectural elements that I haven't seen before. There are poured concret walls that extended from the basement all the way to the first floor ceiling. These walls look seqmented, with large, repeating rectangles across the surface. The thin likes could be found everywhere, from the wood floors, to the seams in the steel staircases. I chose to carry this element into my sign.
The final piece was installed in vinyl.
