Square Copper Trails

These group of artworks were my first formal steps into X particles in C4D, I took it as an extension of  an sculpture project I initiated long time ago called Metal Frequencies where I used square metal profiles to make organic sculptures out of one single piece of profile. Of course this approach is more abstract but I think are a good base to start to think to built them for real.

I basically made a simple X particles system, set two particle groups, the first group at the beginning of the simulation will arrived and touch the geometry volume (in this case a sphere) and immediately change to the second particle group where the particles will react and wrap the outer surface, the rest is to freeze the simulation till you get a sweet point that you like. I also took the chance to test some procedural textures for materials that I had in mind, for many time I have always liked the copper metal and its nobility, a relationship I got  from my etching printing experience, so I imagined this metal tentacles as living threads that behave with intelligence, I always wondered how cool would be to have a thin thread made of cooper to be able to weave cloth.
Enjoy and thanks for watching!
