The IRS HCTC Program
Program kit, collateral and print ads
The IRS had the Healthcare Tax Credit (HCTC) program which helped qualified
families pay for their healthcare. But it wasn’t as successful as it should have been,
partly because the promotional materials surrounding it were hard to understand.
The logo was refreshed and a splash page was launched for quick answers instead of digging through the cumbersome irs.gov site. A fresh style/writing guide was created and the Program Kit, brochures and print ads were all redesigned with friendly, contemporary photography,
and an easy to understand color scheme which portrayed the IRS as speaking
in its characteristic blue, while the candidates spoke in soft, approachable colors.
