This brief required me to re-design the Odyssey and Iliad by Homer. I have designed it for the modern day person with an impressive library and an appreciation for design. 

The logos display a meaning of each of the books individual stories in a minimal way, that is then juxtaposed by the historical, traditional features such as the main serif typeface ‘Athelas’ and the choice of having it hard cover bound with a dust jacket. The line across the dust jacket of the Odyssey shows the timeframe that is written about the war and bloodshed. Coherently, the circular twist featured on The Iliad dust jacket highlights the unknown pathway, the sea and the bloodshed for love. The inside of The Odyssey again carries through the modern logos and meanings with the same serif typeface that again identifies and juxtaposes that it is historical information.
