This was the original cover idea presented by the author.

Here we have various samples from the contracted artist, Yousif Admon, who rendered the eye. After some time, I had opportunity to work with Yousif to direct the final smaller details of the artwork and I really enjoyed that process as well. 

We later debated the perceived effect of the eye we used. Tilting it as we did, some thought it looked like an adults eye. It is suppose to be a child's eye. I mocked up some samples of children's eyes with the blood, but that was around the time the project was temporarily tabled.

Also around that same time; this is one of the final rendered versions I made. I designed everything but the eye. I needed to construct the lowercase-cross shaped "t's" by hand. In the end, the author went with a different cover.
