Philip McFee's profile

The Carolina Quarterly

The Carolina Quarterly
BEING MINDFUL OF YOUR C’S AND Q’S
For its 60th Anniversary, the University of North Carolina’s national arts and literary journal sought out a comprehensive visual identity overhaul that would help return the pub to national prominence. The notion of sixty years, quarters, quadrants, and divisions drove the central icon, and are referenced and reintroduced throughout the entire layout system.

Former Editor-in-Chief Evan Gurney said this of the redesign process: “Commissioning Philip McFee to redesign our literary magazine has easily been the most successful decision of my editorial career. He possesses a remarkably clever and creative vision … and pride in his work. And he should be proud – we’re certainly thrilled with the result.”
