This bronze statue depicts Rodney Badger, the first Utah law enforcement to die in a line of duty. Badger died saving family drowning in the freezing river. I sculpted Rodney Badger carrying an exhausted child, who was just pulled out of the water. Rodney Badger is gasping for air, his wet shirt is clinging to his body. This statue is a tribute to all law enforcement who help families through difficult times and save lives.
(The statue is one of my three heroic size bronze monuments located at the Memorial plaza. It represents the past of Utah law enforcement)
Rodney Badger bronze memorial statue at the Utah State Capitol. I was fortunate to meet the descendants of Rodney Badger, who bear a resemblence to the fallen hero.
