WARSAW PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM AND TICKET VENDING MACHINE (TVM)

This project is a part of my vision of Warsaw Public Transport redesign.

Dropping poorly designed and outdated logos, websites, interfaces and replace them with new, friendly approach with consistent style and character - that was my goal.

I want to change this ugly guys into something better!

Before everything else I wanted to change the logos of the Warsaw Public Transport and give them consistent feel. Then I started to design the website, mobile app and ticket vending machine interface.

WEB SERVICE / MOBILE APP / TVM INTERFACE

There is over 40 items in the menu on the old webpage. I reduced them to 4 - the most needed.

Web Service is the place where one can easily buy monthly tickets, check the bus or tram schedule, find and save routes.

Mobile App have the same functionality as the Web Service but it was redesigned to be useful on touch devices. Larger buttons, larger font but the same style and feel.

Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) Interface was designed to be as easy to use and as readable as possible. Big, bold fonts, high contrast between text and background, no distracting images in the background, easy to understand navigation. I`ve paid attention to make buying tickets for tourists easy and intuitive - that`s why right from the start menu one can choose "Tourist Ticket" and be guided through the buying process quickly.

Choose type of ticket You want to buy - are You a tourist or citizen?

Citizen? Here You can buy all kinds of ticket - one-time, monthly, minute-ticket or tourist ticket.

Now You can choose the way of payment - via PayPass card, phone with NFC system or via SMS.No cash and no change needed.

Here are the instructions for the way of payment You`ve chosen.

If You are a tourist You can buy Tourist Ticket - screen above shows this section of the interface. It`s simple: just choose Your discount (student or not), set how many days are You going to stay in the city, and choose how many tickets would You like to buy. And that`s it. Notice that the "Language" button is allways visible so You can change the interface laguage any time.

TVM

New TVM`s are very important part of the Public Transport redesign. I wanted to reduce them in size and components inside. To do that I`ve decided to drop the cash payment and replace in with PayPass, NFC (for example Google Wallet) and SMS payment support.

TVM`s shells are made from very durable polyconcrete that is water/high/low temperature/impact-proof, can be easily cleaned or polished to look like new.
