Solo exhibition at Soy Sauce Factory, Bangkok.

After I have been living in France for some time, I feel the strictness in culture and the way of life, from the culture of salutation to the manner of eating, it is an obligation that one must ask "how are you?" as to show their proper manner. The culture of having courses in each meals. The complicated silverware set also actually serve for its specific function or even if it serves for the same function, it will be for different type of food. The same concept applied to working etiquette where people here will never pass their responsibilities to anyone during their absence. Since there are certain degree of similarities and differences between Thai and French culture. My initiation derives from the aforementioned strictness which I have lightened and applied it to the original Tapestry.
Starting from the lenient concept, I have chosen some unspecified material for my Tapestry. These materials will serve human in their daily routine. I have make some adaptation by weaving some threads into it. This work represents how I bring Tapestry to the daily lifestyle essentials. In thai culture context, it is the common basketry, yet in the French views, it is their culture.

The comparison of Tapestry and basketry of Thai.
Bamboo or wai is a popular material in Thailand or any natural or easily accessible material found in the locality. The main feature of thai tool aims at utility which stressing on durability more than beauty which differs from Tapestry.
Tapestry of France is the decorative carpet which Decorative Tapestry will serve as picture on the wall. Most of them are heavy and pricey. In the past, Tapestry also serves as storyteller or important event note taking place in that eras, including christian event.

Once I get to know more about tapestry and I am able to have a close look at number of techniques ( including French's man-craft style in the past). I found Tapestry and Weavery techniques incredibly similar, with only differences of material
and function of them.

It is obvious that culture, climate and geographical differences account for the difference of the two things. Even though it is crafted by the same technique, it is functionally difference. The importance of the work is also different. It can be clearly seen that the difference of culture climate and geography account for the difference in details despite the same technique. The context of society also contribute to the difference in functions and utility.
