My Fair Lady Promotional Chocolate Packaging

My Fair Lady - Promotional Chocolate Packaging
Academic group project realized in 2012 with Gabriela Weischtordt.
We had to pick a classic movie and build a differentiated chocolate packaging for it. All the illustrations were made by Gabriela Weischtordt and initially they were more figurative and realistic in color, but our teachers(the clients) insisted we should go for a "Andy Warhol" thing. I was responsible for the developing the knife/package shape and workings, making sure it would all work properly, the pattern used on the insides of the box and the 3D simulation.

The box is composed by two boxes that go on top of each other and are connected by a mechanism that allows them to spin freely (it's actually fun to play with it).
Building the box
The "fake lid" will hide the mechanism when you look at the box from the inside. It is folded first.
These little "tabs" that will later allow the boxes' spiining motion are glued to the "fake lid" and go through the hole of the actual lid of the box.
The real lid is then glued to the fake one.
The little "tabs" also go through the hole of the second box.
The "tabs" are then folded to lock the two pieces in place.
A little circle is then glued to the tabs (not the box) to hide the ugly mechanism.
The opening of the bottom box is located in the coat of the woman in yellow.
