Sarek, Lapland - the last true wilderness of Europe

Sarek National Park, Lapland
The last true wilderness of Europe
Sarek is often called “The EuropeanAlaska” not only for its Arctic beauty, but also because it is the largest purely wild territory on the mainland. There are no marked trails, cellular coverage or rescue teams - a place where your experience in the wild really matters. When you reach the middle of the park, you are at least 100km (65 miles) away from the nearest village around.

I chose to visit the park for 3 weeks in the Autumn of 2011. That was just before the first heavy snow storms arrived and the wild rivers were easier to cross.
Thanks for taking the time to enjoy the wilderness of Lapland!
