Klondyke - Part Two: Bridget's Eviction

Klondyke - Part Two: Bridget's Eviction:

As part of the old Labour Housing Market Renewal Initiative. (HMRI) An 88 year-old pensioner has today 8/3/2012 - been forcibly evicted from her home of many years, and over the past twelve months has suffered harassment and threats by Sefton Borough Council officials - who have systematically split the Klondyke community of Bootle by bulldozing large swaths of housing stock as part of a 'new build' project called 'New Heartlands' and scattering what was a tight-knit community far and wide.

Part Two of this film shows the eviction in process, with footage captured by neighbours - as cowardly officials from Sefton MBC and Bailiffs (who avoided evicting Bridget a week earlier because of a Channel 4 camera crew and a local media presence) attempted to evict the pensioner covertly by returning early the following week, closing off Willard Street and a large area of the Klondyke to achieve their aims.
