People 1981 - Piano Man:

People: Piano Man – 1981:

Synopsis:
George James – The Piano Man. Performed all over the community of Bootle usually at weddings, parties and social gatherings. He regularly ‘tickled the ivories’ in Ma Kent’s public house on Linacre Road, where George would be joined by others playing the spoons, mouth organs and accordians.

Musicians like George were held in high esteem in the community. Especially at social gatherings – This was an era of ‘live music.’ Very few people had record players and the word ‘discotheque’ hadn’t been invented when George played at the peak of his powers.
